Here, Dr. Kirk Adams and the Institute for Sustainable Diversity & Inclusion make the case for the Community Coalition for Sustainable Diversity and Inclusion in the plainest terms they have used yet. We are living through an orchestrated assault on diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging, the campaign argues, and the retreat is neither inevitable nor permanent. Programs are being dismantled, leaders isolated or pushed out, civil rights organizations targeted and intimidated, and the people doing the work, often the same people most directly harmed when it disappears, are carrying the emotional, professional, and financial weight of this moment largely alone. The Coalition is the structural answer to that isolation: a national online home built on the Circle platform under the umbrella of ISDI, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, where practitioners, affected community members, allies, educators, and changemakers can convene, trade resources and expertise, support one another, and organize together instead of weathering this separately. The campaign refuses to describe that as a nice idea. It calls it infrastructure, alignment, and power, built intentionally.

The ask is specific, and the progress behind it is real. Standing the platform up, setup, implementation, onboarding, and the first year of use, costs roughly $20,000, and since the fundraiser opened on June 22, 2026 it has raised $8,758 from 58 donors, about 44 percent of the way there. Gifts are tax deductible and every level is spelled out plainly: $25 widens outreach, $50 supports programming and member engagement, $100 funds platform tools and implementation, $250 underwrites workshops and peer learning, and $500 or more builds the infrastructure a sustainable national coalition actually needs. The appeal is signed by Kirk Adams, Barbara Deane, Effenus Henderson, Joseph Marth, Amelia Ransom, Eddie Pate, Constance Durham-Engelstad, and Jacob Davidson, and it closes on the sentence that gives the whole effort its shape: your gift is not simply helping fund a platform, it is helping build a community of resistance, resilience, strategy, and hope at a time when all four are urgently needed.
