There is a mounting tension in the air right now.
It lives in boardrooms where leaders hesitate before approving inclusion initiatives.
It lingers in HR offices where well-meaning professionals reread policies three times before pressing send.
It sits heavy on the shoulders of champions who once moved boldly—and now move cautiously, watching the shifting ground beneath their feet.
The question I hear again and again is simple:
What are we still allowed to do?
Not what is right.
Not what is needed.
Not what is just.
What is allowed.
This moment of uncertainty has become one of the most powerful forces slowing the work of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
Not opposition.
Not even resistance.
Confusion.
And confusion is isolating.
When you feel unsure, you withdraw.
When you withdraw, you lose momentum.
When momentum fades, systems quietly revert to the status quo.
This is exactly why we are creating something new.
Something bold.
Something shared.
Something durable.
The Community Coalition for Sustainable Diversity and Inclusion (CCSDI).
Because no one should have to navigate this moment alone.
The Community Coalition for Sustainable Diversity and Inclusion will help members move from reactive, isolated survival mode to strategic, sustainable, collective power.
This is not just a statement.
It is a promise.
The Problem: The Rules Feel Blurry, Shifting, and Intimidating
Across industries, DEIA champions are facing an avalanche of legal decisions, policy reinterpretations, and political signals. Many are asking:
- Can we still have employee resource groups?
- Can we still offer targeted leadership programs?
- Can we still track representation data?
- Can we still talk openly about inequity?
Too often, leaders are left alone to interpret complex legal developments with incomplete information and very real consequences.
And fear thrives in isolation.
The result?
Good people pause.
Important work slows.
Progress becomes fragile.
The Coalition’s Solution: Turning Confusion into Clarity
The Coalition will serve as a trusted translation layer—converting complexity into clarity, and fear into forward motion.
Here’s how.
1. Translating Policy and Legal Changes into Plain Language
When major legal decisions or regulatory changes occur, Coalition members will not be left to decipher dense legal documents alone.
Instead, the Coalition will provide:
Clear, human-centered briefings.
For example: If a court ruling affects corporate diversity programs, members will receive a plain-language summary explaining:
- What actually changed
- What did not change
- What actions remain fully lawful
- What actions may require adjustment
- What courageous leaders are still doing successfully
Not legal jargon.
Not academic theory.
Real-world clarity.
Expert-guided conversations.
Coalition members will be invited to live sessions with employment attorneys, policy experts, and experienced practitioners who can answer questions directly—no filters, no guesswork.
Imagine being able to ask:
“Can we still run this program?”
“Can we still measure this outcome?”
“How are other organizations responding?”
And receiving grounded, credible answers from people you trust.
2. Sharing Real Examples of Courageous Leadership
Fear shrinks in the presence of community.
Coalition members will learn from peers who are continuing to lead boldly and responsibly, even in uncertain conditions.
Examples may include:
- A healthcare system that refined—but did not abandon—its inclusive hiring strategy
- A major employer that reframed accessibility as a business growth strategy, not a compliance obligation
- A nonprofit coalition that strengthened its mission by anchoring it in shared values rather than political labels
These stories become permission.
They remind us that progress is still possible.
That courage is still legal.
That leadership is still needed.
3. Creating a Shared Brain Trust
No single leader should have to carry this burden alone.
Through the Coalition, members will gain access to a living network of peers who are navigating the same terrain.
Not competitors.
Co-creators.
Together, they will exchange strategies, insights, and wisdom—transforming individual uncertainty into collective intelligence.
This is how power becomes sustainable.
We Are Now Building the Coalition—And You Can Help Shape It
We’re thrilled to share that we’ve selected Circle as the digital home for the Community Coalition for Sustainable Diversity and Inclusion—and it couldn’t be a better fit for what we’re building together.
Circle isn’t just a platform; it’s a living, breathing community space designed for connection, collaboration, and momentum. It allows us to bring people together across sectors and identities in one accessible, beautifully organized environment. Members will be able to join curated spaces tailored to their interests and roles, participate in rich discussions, and build meaningful relationships that go far beyond surface-level engagement.
What really excites us is how Circle supports real-time energy and long-term value. From live events and interactive workshops to resource libraries and ongoing conversations, everything lives in one place—no more scattered emails or lost links. It’s a space where ideas can spark in the moment and continue to grow over time.
And perhaps most importantly, Circle gives us the ability to co-create this coalition with you. Founding members won’t just join a community—they’ll help shape it. Together, we’ll build a dynamic ecosystem rooted in shared learning, mutual support, and collective power.
This is where connection becomes movement.
If You Believe This Work Matters, Here’s How You Can Help
Movements do not begin with announcements.
They begin with people.
People who choose connection over isolation.
Clarity over confusion.
Community over fear.
You can play a vital role in shaping this Coalition by taking four simple actions:
1. Subscribe to the ISDI email list at https://i4sdi.org
Subscribers will be the first to receive invitations to become Founding Members.

3. Share this blog post with your social media networks
There are leaders in your circle who need to know they are not alone.
4. Email this post to someone who is carrying the weight of this work
Your invitation may be the encouragement they need to keep going.
This is a moment of uncertainty.
But it is also a moment of possibility.
Because when people come together with shared purpose, shared courage, and shared clarity…
Confusion gives way to confidence.
Isolation gives way to community.
Fragility gives way to strength.
And what once felt like survival…
Becomes collective power.
